St Ignatius Loyola Academy

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam

The Graduate Support Program

Support is our middle name. How can we help you help our young men?

The Graduate Support Program at Saint Ignatius Loyola Academy supports our alumni as they pursue their secondary and post-secondary educational and career aspirations. As our young men enter the Academy, and throughout their time with us, we emphasize the importance of high intellectual standards, moral integrity, social obligation and spiritual striving; our young men leave us with a solid grounding and a working outline of what it means to be “men for others.”

The Graduate Support Program at Saint Ignatius Loyola Academy assists its alumni in myriad ways. Through regular mailings designed to inform and challenge our young men to pursue excellence, regular phone calls to lend a listening and supportive ear, and quarterly gathering designed to strengthen and maintain the bonds that were made at Saint Ignatius Loyola Academy, we pursue our lifelong commitment to the success of our alumni.

We also regularly visit the various high schools and colleges our alumni are attending. The purpose of these visits is twofold: First, we want to interact and support our alumni in their current academic environments; second, we want to learn from and support the work of the various teachers, counselors and administrators with whom our students work.

The Director of Graduate Support:  The Director’s role is to assist the Academy in maintaining regular, individual, and group contact with all of its graduates, so that they know and experience the Academy’s personal care and support of them throughout high school and college until they enter the professional world. A summarized list of the director’s responsibilities follows:

  • Ensure each graduate maximizes his potential through college into a professional career— to help him become a leader and role model in his community.
  • Establish a distinct relationship with each institution SILA graduates attend—to help form a supporting partnership with the administration.
  • Organize a male mentoring system—our ideal is one mentor for each graduate
  • Mobilize summer jobs and other opportunities for graduates—summer institutes, internships etc.
