Two Academy Students Awarded Scholarship to the Access Exeter Summer Program The Academy is pleased to announce that two students, Ifeanyi Oranye ’09 and Kyle Scott ’10, will be studying this summer in New Hampshire at the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy. This is the third year the Academy has sent students to Phillips Exeter. Past recipients include Chub-Chi Okay-Zech ’07, Curtis Stubs ’08, and Mikal Ames ’09. Fanny and Kyle each received almost $7,000 in scholarship money to attend the Access Exeter summer program. About 700 students will be traveling to New Hampshire from more than 40 states, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and several dozen foreign nations. The Access Exeter summer program is five weeks of academic study, athletics, and exploration that is designed to carry the students far beyond the classrooms and the playing fields. While there, each student has the opportunity to study courses in one of the offered academic clusters. Fanny is participating in the Global Community cluster, which focuses on courses in modern language, English, and philosophy. Kyle is more interested in the sciences and his Crime Scene Investigation (C.S.I.) cluster will allow him to explore this interest, as well as literature and photography. The Academy is very proud of Ifeanyi and Kyle’s acceptances into this enriching program and we look forward to hearing about their experiences. back |
