Three Eighth Grade Students Selected to Attend Summer Program at the Teton Science School

Three eighth grade students, Edwin Amos, Allan Johnson and Dwayne Thomas, were selected to the attend the Teton Science Schools' Middle School Field Ecology summer program.  Located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Teton Science Schools were founded with the mission of connecting people, nature, place and education.  They provide a variety of educational programs for both students and educators.  With their acceptances, the students will receive a scholarship to cover the program's tuition, room and board, and airfare to and from Teton Science Schools' campus.

The Middle School Field Ecology program unites students from around the country for a 10-day, in-residence educational adventure in the ecology of the Greater Yellowstone geo-ecosystem. Students explore diverse wildlife and the various landscapes of the region with Teton Science Schools' instructors. The first week focuses on field ecology skills and includes a student-designed research project, while the last four days celebrate newly acquired knowledge and friendships by connecting to both nature and human communities. The program also includes a back country experience.
