Varsity Basketball Team Wins Krieger Schechter
Middle School Invitational

The varsity basketball finished off a tremendous season by winning the Krieger Schechter Middle School Invitational for the first time in school history.  Following a 1-3 start, the Knights rolled into the tournament on a four game winning streak.  The first two games of the tournament were hotly contested, but in both the team was able to pull together despite being shorthanded and secure victory.  In the championship game the squad was clearly bruised and worn from the previous hard-fought victories, but they reached back and laid it all on the line one more time, eventually cruising to a 42-24 win.  Eighth grader Edwin Amos was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, but it truly was a team effort.

The remarkable season was earned through the work ethic that the Knights showed in practice.  They always played their hardest for their teammates, knowing that their brothers would respond in kind.  The Unsung Hero Award for the season went to Tavyen Williams for his defensive effort and hustle.  The Coaches Award was given to Dainon Johnson for his sportsmanship and unselfish play.  The All Out Award, the team’s highest honor, was given to Edwin Amos who instilled in his team the heart of a champion.

(Go Knights!)
