On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-5:00 PM students are required to participate in athletics and activities in each season of the school year. Saint Ignatius Loyola Academy offers a variety of athletic offerings each season. Students are required to participate in an interscholastic sport or one of the Academy's in-house activities. The goals of these programs are:
To promote lifelong physical fitness in each student
- To present opportunities for students to belong to a group in which each person is accepted
- To provide opportunities for increased responsibility in planning, organization and leadership
- To provide experiences that will develop initiative, loyalty, honesty, and kindness to others
The Academy is a member of the Baltimore Athletic Conference of Independent Schools (BACIS); thus, competes against other BACIS schools in the majority of sports and also has independently scheduled athletic contests against other Baltimore-area private schools. (
